Pitchfork Media Interviews Buck 65
(from Pitchfork) Though I like to give Pitchfork hell for being so goddamn pretentious, I do understand that they have quite the lively following (and I know that such pompousness is not a fresh or recent development in the realm of art, so I’ll let it slide). That they initiated an interview with Nova Scotian rapper Buck 65 (who I first learned about at SXSW this year) earns them some serious cool points. He’s got some of the weirdest, most experimental rap songs (unconventional beats, chatty Beck-like mind vomit meets backpack rap lyrics) I’ve heard in a long time with quite an extensive discography (I’ve got at least a gig worth of tracks by the man). Now, for his sixth full-length titled Situation (due out October 30 – my birthday!) he’s focusing on the year 1957. I almost resisted the temptation to be brief and lazy on this one, almost broke out into a full-scale report/article, but it’s too goddamn cold in this computer lab – see above link for full story. Expect better reporting once I get my own computer. I keep the thermostat on 78 at home, no lie. The 20 degree (negative) difference is slowing down the flow of blood through my veins and making me want to die (and my nipples could gore somebody right now).
By the way, to all of you who read (and don’t comment), thanks. It feels good to know that I pour time into the empty void of the internet for the readership of some. If you’ve been reading for a while, why not send me an email and introduce yourself? Let me know you exist, because I see the page hits.

New Brother Ali Album on the way
This comes from Rhymesayers.com:
In the year 2000, Brother Ali Joined Rhymesayers with a self-produced demo called Rites of Passage. Three years later Ali took the underground by storm with an undeniable stage presence and his critically acclaimed debut full-length Shadows On The Sun. The impact was unquestionable and that next year Ali solidified his place amongst the independent Hip Hop elite with the release of 2004’s The Champion EP.
Like deja vu, here we are three years later and Ali is ready to take the world by storm with his latest creation. After struggling through a series of personal roadblocks, from parting ways with his wife of 10 years, becoming homeless and trying to secure custody of his only son… Brother Ali along with Atmosphere producer and Shadows & Champion collaborator Ant, present the long awaited sophomore full-length album The Undisputed Truth. Personal, political and more powerful than ever, simply put, the truth is here.
“I wanted to make an album that gives you no choice but to feel what im saying at that given time”, Ali explains of The Undisputed Truth. “I made choices that sent me through a lot of struggle in the past few years and Ant and I have made music that really communicates the exact feeling of those situations.” -Brother Ali

Brother Ali is definitely one of the sickest MCs around. He’s a huge, albino black man. Everything about him is unconventional, and his words are amazing. He’s also got some great beats as well. Listen to some of the sample songs! A majority of the stuff on Rhymesayers is super high caliber bad ass music…I love Rhymesayers.
